La Cité du Vin: Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the World’s Premier Wine Museum
Take a Photographic Journey through 50 Wine Regions
Having just returned from France, I highly recommend visiting La Cité du Vin when you are in Bordeaux. Or perhaps schedule a trip to Bordeaux with the museum as your core experience? Over the last 9 years, I toured La Cité du Vin three times. With each a new experience, I gained an appreciation for the vast world of wine. This year they are celebrating the 10th anniversary with “Around the World in 50 Wine Regions,” a new temporary exhibition featuring more than fifty photographs, with the show displayed through the end of 2026.
“The aim is to celebrate the richness and diversity of the world’s vineyards by offering a truly artistic journey, where each photograph, provided by the wine-sector partners of the Cité du Vin, is a unique work of art, emblematic of each region. An ode to travel, heritage and discovery!” – La Cité du Vin, Press Release, 26February 2026
Head to La Cité du Vin for a photographic journey through the wine regions of the world as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations at La Cité du Vin, Admission is free and the exhibition is located on the ground floor and first floor.

About the 2026 Exhibit: Around the World in 50 Wine Regions
Until the end of 2026, visitors to La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux will be able to enjoy free access to a unique photo exhibition. “Around the World in 50 Wine Regions” brings together fifty-four color photographs, available on the ground floor and first floor of the Cité du Vin. This exhibit pays tribute to its wine-sector partners around the world. Coming from Bordeaux region/Europe or one of the other four continents featured, La Cité du Vin offers a selection of “ambassador” wines throughout the year that visitors can taste. Multiple activities are offered at the Cité du Vin (Belvedere Room, Sensory tasting journey, tasting workshops, cultural events, etc.). By supporting the Foundation for wine culture and civilizations in its mission to make the universal and living heritage of wine accessible to as many people as possible, each of La Cité du Vin wine partners contributes to highlighting the variety of terroirs and grape varieties around the world. The exhibition, organized as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, is an exceptional opportunity to learn more about the people behind the tasting glasses.
“To mark the 10th anniversary of La Cité du Vin, we wanted to celebrate the diversity of wine civilizations, which have shaped our relationship with the world for centuries, and reaffirm the openness that inspires us, at a time when international tensions too often push societies into isolation,” - Philippe Hernandez, Director of Cultural Programming and Development, La Cité du Vin
Events to Celebrate the Anniversary
Numerous events will mark out this year of celebrations: the special Bordeaux edition of the Via Sensoria Sensory tasting journey, starting on 1 April; cultural events (meetings, conferences, screenings) on themes related to the anniversary; a festive weekend from 4 to 7 June with numerous activities (free evening event - booking required, tastings of the 2026 vintage, family and festive activities – coloring, customizing wooden cases, KAPLA (a construction game made from natural French pine) construction workshops, virtual reality vine pruning, live concert and DJ sets, etc.).
